The President’s Cup Swimming Tournament
The swimming competition which happens to be the 2nd edition was put up by the Ghana Swimming Association and saw swimming clubs like Dolphins Swimming Center, Legon Sharks, Torpedos, Ghana Dolphins, Marlins Swim Team, Aquatic Masters, Blue fins, Dolphins Swimming Club – Kumasi and African Sharks, coming together to exhibit their skill and unearth their swimming talents as well.
The purpose was to provide the platform for swimmers to develop and identity talents for the various national swimming teams and also to sensitize the general public about swimming as a sport that can give Ghana medals at international competition. Legon sharks emerged as the overall winners of the tournament.
Dolphins Swimming Center also won 7 medals. 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze. An improve from last year’s edition where we won only 3 medals.
Organizers expressed their profound gratitude to all who were able to make it to the event and also showed their joy to the interest the sports in gaining at the moment.
Also, a plea was made for support for subsequent editions from individuals and corporate bodies.
Accra Hearts of Oak, a Ghana Premier League club, has been active in the transfer market, signing goalkeeper Benjamin Asare from Great Olympics on a two-year deal. The club has also parted ways with three goalkeepers, Richard Attah, Eric Ofori Antwi, and Richmond Ayi, and center back Kofi Agbesimah is set to join FC Samartex.
Coach Aboubakar Outtara has expressed a willingness to let players leave if they desire, and there are discussions about the club’s recruitment policy. Despite narrowly avoiding relegation last season, the coach is optimistic about the team’s prospects for the upcoming season
Manchester United unveiled their new away kit for the 2024-25 season, drawing inspiration from the club’s history and the rivers of Manchester. The design pays homage to the 90s era of the club’s kits and has received a mixed response from fans and media.
The kit was showcased by players including Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, and Lisandro Martinez.
