Edward Bawa has been reassigned by President John Dramani Mahama from his position as CEO of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) to the role of Group CEO at GOIL, Ghana’s leading indigenous oil marketing company. This reassignment was announced today, February 13, 2025. Bawa had previously assumed the role at GNPC on January 16, 2025, following the exit of Joseph Dadzie.
The reasons for this abrupt transition have not been officially stated, but Edward Bawa himself has indicated that the decision aligns with the President’s broader strategy for the energy sector. There has been no announcement yet regarding who will take over Bawa’s previous position at GNPC.
