James Stephen ‘Jimmy’ Donaldson, known as MrBeast, announced his engagement to Thea Booysen on Christmas Day, 2024. The proposal occurred in a festive environment where both were dressed in matching ‘Mr. Beast’ themed Christmas sweaters surrounded by both of their families who had gathered for the holiday.

MrBeast described the moment as intimate and private, contrasting with his usual public spectacles, aiming to surprise Booysen by involving her South African family in the moment.

Booysen, who met Donaldson in 2022 during his visit to South Africa, shared that her family flew in for Christmas, and the proposal came as a surprise when MrBeast asked her to close her eyes for the last present of the evening.

The couple plans to have a small, intimate wedding on an island, focusing on close family and friends rather than a large, extravagant event. Booysen is a content creator with a background in law, psychology, and human cognitive neuropsychology, and she has been supportive of MrBeast during various controversies surrounding his YouTube career.

This joyful moment was shared with family and has since been celebrated widely by fans and media, marking a significant personal milestone for the popular YouTuber.
