A group of individuals claiming to be a Ghanaian Paralympic team traveled to Norway, but it was later revealed that they were not officially representing Ghana. The situation escalated when four relatives of the deceased coach, sent to retrieve his body, also absconded upon arrival in Norway.

Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif denied responsibility for the scandal, emphasizing that the team did not represent Ghana as reported. Calls have been made for an independent investigation into the matter, with concerns raised about the Norwegian authorities’ failure to verify the team’s legitimacy before issuing visas.
