Morocco upgraded 65,000 capacity Ibn Battuta Stadium in Tangier and 50,000 capacity Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat

Morocco has upgraded two of its major stadiums in preparation for several upcoming international football events. The Ibn Battuta Stadium in Tangier, with a capacity of 65,000, and the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, with a capacity of 50,000, have both undergone significant renovations to meet international standards.

These upgrades are part of Morocco’s broader efforts to enhance its sports infrastructure in anticipation of hosting the 2024 WAFCON, 2024 FUTSAL AFCON, 2025 AFCON, 2025, 2026, 2027, 2028, 2029 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, 2029 FIFA Club World Cup, 2029 FIFA Arab Cup and 2030 FIFA World Cup which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
