The comeback; Made In Taadi Concert 2024, were expectations reached?

Spread the love

Kofi Kinaata’s Made In Taadi Concert  has become a significant cultural festivity in Takoradi, especially around Christmas time. The concert aims to celebrate local talent and bring joy to the community, with performances from various artists, including Kofi Kinaata himself. It’s seen as a major event in the region, often highlighted for its success in drawing crowds and featuring prominent musicians from across Ghana.

There’s also a song titled “Made in Taadi” by Kofi Kinaata, which encapsulates the spirit of the city during festive times, particularly referencing the celebrations around the 25th of December and New Year. The lyrics of the song express pride in Takoradi’s festive atmosphere, making it a sort of anthem for the city’s celebrations.

The event and the song both reflect a strong sense of community and local pride. The concert not only entertains but also fosters a sense of unity among the people of Takoradi and the Western Region, making it a pivotal part of the local cultural landscape.

Takoradi, during these events, becomes the focal point for celebration in Ghana, often described as the “capital town of Ghana during the Yuletide. The festivities include masquerading, which is a unique cultural practice in the area, alongside traditional and contemporary music performances.

The concert and related activities boost local tourism and economy, providing entertainment and a platform for local artists. It also serves as a reunion point for natives and those from the diaspora during the holiday season.

This blend of music, culture, and community celebration underlines the significance of “Made in Taadi” in Ghana’s cultural calendar, especially in the Western Region.

The heartbreaking news that came;

“This years Kofi Kinaata’s Made In Taadi cancelled on 8th December, 2022.”

“We didn’t get a venue. The Jubilee Park [the usual venue] is now a temporary market because of the renovation work happening at Market Circle,” he explained.

He turned his attention to another unavailable venue.

“There is a construction happening at the Poly [Takoradi Technical University] Park as well. I think an astroturf work or so,” he said.

“The annual attending crowd is also too much to take anywhere else,” he added.

Some of these reasons cited above got some hard core followers of the event in disagreement and very disappointed with the entire ‘Team Move.” Various suggestions were made by way of alternatives with some suggesting places like (Bompeh Senior High Technical School, GSTS, Kofi Annan Road, etc) with one hilarious suggestion being (Bedu Addo Park) lol.

Fast forward, 2024, in the hours of 18:25 GMT, the news was officially broken. #MadeInTadiConcert guess what? Made In Tadi Concert is back.

The team took to social media to see the excitement this news came with and guess what;

The event for now has rumours that it will come off between either one of these dates, thus 20th-24th December 2024 with venue likely to be at Takoradi Mall or TTU Park (all awaiting confirmation)

By this we welcome you all to celebrate with us this Yuletide. DECEMBER IS TAKORADI  #XmasIsTadi

Clifford Joseph Harris Jr (T.I) has officially announced his retirement from performing live music. His decision to step away from live performances was revealed during an interview on Atlanta’s 96.1 The Beat.

T.I.’s last show will be at 96.1 The Beat’s Jingle Ball holiday concert on December 19, 2024, in Atlanta. This event will feature several artists including Sexyy Red, T-Pain, Saweetie, The Kid Laroi, Khalid, and Tinashe.

T.I. stated, “I appreciate y’all for offering me my last working gig because I do not need the money anymore and I will not be performing. This suggests that financial independence plays a significant role in his decision, allowing him to retire from the strenuous aspect of live performances. There’s been a mix of reactions online, with some fans expressing disbelief or sadness over his retirement, while others speculate that his recent financial windfall from a lawsuit might be influencing his decision. T.I. and his wife, Tiny, won a $71 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment, which could be contributing to this new found financial freedom.

Although T.I. is retiring from live performances, this does not necessarily mean he is retiring from music entirely. His comments primarily focus on not wanting to perform live but do not exclude other forms of musical involvement like producing, writing, or even recording new music. T.I. has had a storied career, facing legal issues, but also making significant contributions to social justice and community work. His decision to retire from performing might also reflect a broader life transition or a desire to focus on other aspects of his life and career.

This retirement marks the end of an era for fans of T.I., known for his significant influence in hip-hop, especially within the trap music genre. His decision seems to be a culmination of achieving a level of financial security and perhaps a personal desire to move away from the spotlight of live entertainment.
