is about to start hiding all likes
X, formerly known as Twitter, is making likes private starting today. This means that users’ likes on the platform will be hidden by default. However, users will still be able to see who liked their posts and the like count for all posts. This change is intended to allow users to like posts without worrying about who might see it.
Elon:
“Important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so!” It is expected that the number of likes on a post will still be visible to everyone, but it will not be possible to see who liked a post from another user. Similarly, the Likes tab on user profiles will also disappear.
