Congratulations to Archbishop Porter Girls’ Senior High School for winning the maiden edition of the African Effectual Entrepreneurship Initiative (AEEI) “Trash to Treasure” competition in Ghana. The 1st runner-up was Ahantaman SHS, and the 2nd runner-up was St. John’s School. Fijai SHS and St Mary’s Boys SHS took home consolation prizes.

This exciting initiative, organized by the African Effectual Entrepreneurship Initiative (AEEI), challenged visual art students across five senior high schools in Ghana to transform waste materials into artistic masterpieces, promoting hashtag #creativity, #circularity, #sustainability and #effectuation.

The AEEI, a collaboration between the Social Entrepreneurship Hub (SE Hub) in Takoradi, the SOCIETY FOR EFFECTUAL ACTION, and the Scio Network, aims to empower future generations to become champions of the circular economy through effectual entrepreneurship.

The event was supported by Sächsische Jugendstiftung (Genialsozial). This initiative is inspired and led by Prof. Dr. Saras Sarasvathy at the Virginia University Darden School of Business.
