A Metro Mass bus that departed from Kaneshie early hours of Monday, 6th May, caught fire on its way to Obuasi-Dunkwa. Passengers were able to escape after noticing smoke coming from the luggage compartment.
Surprisingly, they found acid and several parcels of marijuana packed in the compartment. The incident recorded no casualties but almost all the luggage’s in the compartment were completely burned out with nothing retrieved.
Fire service personnel and the police who arrived at the scene managed to control the situation, and the marijuana parcels have been confiscated by the police.
The driver of the Metro Mass bus has not been able to provide a clear reason as to why parcels of marijuana were packed in the government public bus.
