The latest development in the transfer saga involving Jonathan Tah, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United revolves around the potential sale of Matthijs de Ligt.

According to the most recent reports, Bayern Munich has reached an agreement in principle with Bayer Leverkusen to sign Jonathan Tah. However, this deal is contingent upon Bayern Munich first selling Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United.

Bayern Munich’s interest in Jonathan Tah has been ongoing, with the club looking to strengthen its defensive options. The German champions have been in talks with Bayer Leverkusen over a potential transfer for the 28-year-old German international.

The deal, which is reported to be worth around €25 million plus €5 million in add-ons, is seen as a crucial step for Bayern Munich to finalize their summer transfer business.

However, the transfer of Jonathan Tah to Bayern Munich is directly linked to the sale of Matthijs de Ligt to Manchester United. The Dutch defender has been a target for Manchester United, with the club reportedly willing to meet Bayern Munich’s asking price of €50 million plus bonuses for the 24-year-old.

The transfer triangle between Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Manchester United is a complex one, with each club’s actions dependent on the others. Bayern Munich’s pursuit of Jonathan Tah is contingent upon the sale of Matthijs de Ligt, while Manchester United’s interest in the Dutch defender is dependent on the outcome of their negotiations with Bayern Munich.

As the transfer window draws to a close, all eyes will be on the negotiations between Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, and Manchester United, with the outcome of these talks likely to have a significant impact on the future of Jonathan Tah, Matthijs de Ligt, and the respective clubs involved.

This follows their opening 4-0 win over Hong Kong, making it back-to-back clean-sheet victories with 8 goals scored and none conceded so far. The result positions Ghana at the top of the four-nation tournament table involving Ghana, Russia, Hong Kong, and Tanzania, as they prepare for the WAFCON 2026 qualifiers.

Match Highlights

    • Stella Nyamekye opened the scoring early in the 8th minute with a well-taken finish.
    • Doris Boaduwaa added a brace (goals in the 17th and 33rd minutes, including one described as a super finish).
    • Patience Ajegipina Zakaria (Ampem Darkoa Ladies striker, on debut form from the first game too) sealed it with the fourth in the 88th minute.

The Black Queens showed strong composure, high pressing, and clinical attacking under head coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren, who reportedly called this one of the best performances he’s seen from the team since taking charge.

This comes amid some reported tensions in the region (mentioned in Dubai context), but the team stayed focused and impressed. The Queens will take on Tanzania on Friday, March 6, 2026, in their final group game.

You are the soul and heart of the game.” He emphasized impartiality, fairness, and the responsibility that comes with representing Ghana internationally, with continued FIFA recognition depending on ongoing performance.

This achievement reflects Ghana’s strengthening presence in global refereeing, especially after past challenges in the sport. These referees are now set to take the pitch in international competitions, bringing pride to the nation.
